My Background

Hello, I am Brigette! I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and dually licensed Professional Counselor-In Training and Substance Use Counselor-In Training. I completed my BA in Psychology and Sociology from Central Washington University and my MS in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from UW Madison. As part of my clinical training, I was awarded the NBCC-SAMHSA Master’s Fellowship for Addiction Counselors and completed my internship at a neuropsychology clinic, focusing on providing counseling services to people with Traumatic Brain Injury. I started working as a substance use counselor in 2017 and have specific experience working with women, veterans/service members, justice involved individuals, people in the LGBTQ+ community, couples and families impacted by substance use, and people with disabilities.

I use an integrated theoretical approach to therapy, viewing it as collaboration with the goal of finding meaning, understanding, and/or solutions for life experiences. I pair this with advocacy and resource building when appropriate, ensuring that both internal and external needs are met. My hope is to provide clients with frameworks and tools that allow them to feel as though they are an active participant in their own healing.

I am passionate about creating a safe space for the spectrum of human experience and emotion, especially for those who have experienced stigma or discrimination. I am committed to being a lifelong learner and maintaining an open line of communication in order to do this. I look forward to getting into the work together and helping you feel at home in your life.
