My Background
Hi! My name is Emily and I am a mother to a wonderful little boy, 2 dogs, and 2 cats (it’s a busy household!). I’m a licensed counselor in training and I primarily employ a person-centered and trauma-informed approach as it encourages the client to be in charge of the therapeutic process. I describe it as holding the flashlight so you can find the right path.
As a teenager, I was heavily impacted by the hard work and dedication of domestic violence and family counselors; it became my goal to help others as I had been helped to create positive change for children and families. I have since worked both within nonprofit and state organizations to help improve the lives of children, families, domestic violence, drug abuse, and gang violence survivors, solidifying for me that this is the field I'm meant to be in.
I believe that everyone is unique, and that this uniqueness should be celebrated and used as a tool for growth and healing. I have experience and a passion for working with teens, young adults, families, and older adults. I look forward to meeting you and going on this journey together!
