My Background

Hi, I’m Madeleine! I am a licensed counselor in training and a registered provisional art therapist, and I am certified in ecotherapy. My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and client-centered, as I believe that you hold your own healing power within yourself. My passion is providing a creative, intentional, culturally-sensitive, comfortable space where it feels safe to express and explore all aspects of yourself.

The act of creating art provides healing, grounding, and regulation. Art is also a practice of mindfulness, a way to increase self-esteem, and a way to connect more deeply with yourself and others. You do not need to be an artist to create art - creating is a natural human instinct.

Nature is another incredibly powerful form of healing. Through the use of earth-based practices such as outdoor therapy sessions, mindful walking, and fostering connections to plants, animals, and all living beings, you can find ways to intentionally foster your own growth and healing. A quote I relate to this goes, “Heal the roots, and the tree will grow.”

Together, we will use creative forms of expression and nature-based practices to uncover your unique strengths and identity. I’m excited to work collaboratively with you on your healing path. Your voice matters, your words matter, your strengths matter, and you matter.
